The Scott’s Wedding | Cookouts to Country Club

The beauty in love is not held back by time or distance; in fact true love can not be held back by anything as it is life true purpose. This beautiful couple found each other by chance it would seem; but truly it was all a matter of time. Their wedding day was everything I love about capturing weddings. Bright floral, family and generational traditions, lots of laughter, and a whoooooooole lot of fun. The Country Club is a place black people have been removed from for years and to see this beautiful brown family celebrating loud and proud in this space made my heart sore. The wedding took place on the lush green grassy side of the club just as the sun came down. The couple celebrated in the best way possible by jumping the broom and having their 90 year old ancestor there to witness. There is nothing more I can say, but how proud I am to be able to use my talents to capture my community and the love stories that would other wise go untold.

We spent every weekend together and I gradually came to see him as more than just a friend. So, one day I made him admit that he was interested in me (LOL).

I always thought he was cute. I just thought he was so short that there was nothing I could do with him. We spent every weekend together and I gradually came to see him as more than just a friend. So, one day I made him admit that he was interested in me (LOL). I told him if I had to choose between having him as a friend or having him as more, I would choose to keep him as a friend. He promised me I could have both. He’s kept his promise.
