Yes you read that right and I am sure many of you might have on V's face right now. So let me explain how we came to this decision. As our company continues to expand and take on new endeavors we want to make sure we continue to provide all our clients with superb service and selections. In reality we know this means narrowing in our focus and work. As of September 1st we no longer will be offering any of our newborn sessions.

We are definitely going to miss shooting those precious faces, and we hope to see them as they grow in your family portraits! I also feel confident with several of my fellow Bay Area friends and photographers who offer these sessions still. So do not  fret, your still in the best area/cities to get amazing portraits of your new bundles.

We are sad to go personally, but despite this we are sooooooo excited for all the new things to come. Especially for all our clients! Kind Hearted Images is hard at work planning and organizing some really great new additions and projects. Next year are wedding packages will have some wonderful additional and even more reasonable packages for our local brides who are looking to capture small intimate weddings!

Also, we have some new publishing arriving and sessions for our growing Bay Area tech and business companies; even better we have mini-headshot session arriving in September to help support small business, start ups,  and local business! There is sooooo much I can share, but we want to keep you on those toes! So keep up with our BLOG and INSTAGRAM as we reveal all our updates over the next few months!

Stay tuned and as always thank you for your support!

Hiatus Update

Recently you might have noticed we went on a small hiatus that turned into a few forced months of absence. Many may recall that our Owner and Head Photographer has LUPUS. Check her original story here -> (5 Year Journey).  Now that we are settling back here is a update and few words from the warrior herself:

Lupus has been a part of my journey for year now, but I have been managing it so well these past 7 years, that many who know me  actually have said  they forgot I had this disease. I always been  hesitant about speaking to much on my personal life on here,  as I have always been taught to separate the two. However, since my absence was so sudden and I value the understanding,  respect,  patience, and loyalty that so many of my clients had I really wanted to  express my appreciation!

After shooting back to back weddings and laying the frame work for our busy season it was to my surprise that what felt like HORRIBLE allergies was actually my body going into full kidney failure. By the time I went into ER I was in full kidney shut down and feeling terrible.  From this point I spent almost 30 days in the hospital and another 30+ home recovering. During this time I really had the chance to reflect on where/what I was putting my time, energy, and stress into! Some of it I was okay with and some not.

Things I know it's not all worth it, take time to rest, and its A M A Z I N G to have a solid team behind you and your brand!

All this to say we are going to be rolling out some awesome changes and updates soon! Why, because with a month on bedrest we had a chance to brainstorm as team and most importantly read and review all the amazing feedback from our clients over the past months/years! Our goal is to constantly keep improving and moving forward to bring the best in portraiture to some of the best clients in the Bay! So stay tuned as new collections roll out and all I can say is.... WEDDINGS = MIND BLOWN! Because yes we are tired of the wedding industry tacking on a extra $1000 just for hearing the word 'wedding'! We are here for you; it's the premises and foundation of this company....be kind to others and they will be kind to you; Kind Hearted that is!

Downtown Vacaville Senior Session: Ashley G.

The thing I love about be being a photographer in California is that there is always sunshine somewhere. It was so rainy and ugly before this beautiful young ladies session then low and behold sunshine and warm summer climate. However that area was still a little wet form the previous days rain.

Best thing about sessions like these is it challenges my ability to find amazing locations or make a not so perfect spot look stunning. What does this mean? The first image believe it or not was taken with the client standing on top of a storage drain in-between two bushes! This reminded me of a simple truth that still holds true, it really doesn't matter where you are and what lens/gear you have. If you have the 'eye' you can make a dim situation look stunning.

A simple downtown park lacking in flowers and vibrate colors, still provided excellent backdrops. But having a stunning and adventurous client always makes the job 20 times easier!

A TRIBUTE TO WOMEN IN OUR HISTORY

here’s to the strong women,
may we know them,
may we be them,
may we raise them!

1. My Grandmother: Ms. Geneva Dennis! Although, I only got to spend a few years with this wonderful woman her memory will remain in my heart forever. My Grandmother had a heart big enough to show love to everyone around her. Every morning she would make coffee for her employees, but she wouldn't stop there. Grandma would make extra pots of coffee just so that the homeless could stop in for a cup! Many were against her decision to help these individuals, but that never deterred her. Her compassion for people no matter their background, circumstance, class, or gender made her such a phenomenal women. Though there are no plaques hanging in honor of her kind acts, I know her name and memory remains in the hearts of the people she helped, even if in the smallest of ways.

2. My Mother: Ameena. Where do I start? This women has always been at the center of my existence and growth. As with many Mothers, my Mom did more than give birth to my sister and I, she comforted us, enlightened us, and much more. For almost a year I laid in a hospital bed fighting for my life, during this time my Mother did not leave my side for a moment. Sleeping in a hard chair without complaint she watched over me and constantly reminded me that I would see outside of those four walls and enjoy a healthy life. Her love, strength, and maternal instincts moved her to act as my personal nurse despite battling her own health problems. Women have made history for many amazing feats, but I believe that it is our Mothers who deserve the greatest award of all! They are the ones that often make great sacrifices to raise, mentor, and encourage the women we read about in the history books.

3. My Sister: Kacia. This young women has been so influential  to my success, not only in the business of photography, but in life in general. I have always looked up to my sister and I am proud to call her my role model. Watching her grow up and seeing how she maneuvered over all the hurdles life placed in front of her helped me to admire her even more. No one can understand the bond between sisters, but no one can deny the huge dynamic it plays on the women we become.

4. La Bella Weddings:  Sarah. This phenomenal business women, mother, wife, and friend is definitely making history! Doing all this at young age without breaking her warm smile and loving spirit, is a huge accomplishment. Working in the wedding industry can be both consuming and competitive, so it becomes crucial to have someone in your corner who can see and speak positively in the hardest of situations. Sarah is that person for me, she is an altruistic human and I'm so thankful to have her around. Thank you, Sarah, for being a constant light in everyone's life! Need someone to bring love and light into the chaos of Wedding planning? Check out her website below for information!

5. Alex Elle: I have never felt so close to a women I don't actually know...sounds crazy, but I stumbled across this poet/author's page on Twitter a few years ago and she stole my heart with one phrase, "self-care"! At the time I was at horrible place. I was completely overcome with negative thoughts and perceptions of myself. Reading about her journey, her affirmations of love, poems, and words of encouragement guided me through dark times. Alex is a woman dedicated to empowering women! She builds her mantra around loving yourself, accepting who you are, but most importantly knowing that you are enough. This beautiful soul is making history while simotanseouly rewriting the history of how we feel as women. Please follow her and check out her books online. You will not be disappointed!

6. The Next Generation: Alexis. This young lady inspires me whenever I'm around her! Her level of beauty exudes her as she marches to the beat of her own drum. I love to see young women take on this new and beautiful attitude of self-love and self-care. We often make the mistake of thinking that it is only women older than us that we can look up to; however, I believe we can learn just as much from this up and coming generation of young women who are forcing us all to reconsider the status quo. Alexis encompasses the enthusiastic positivity, awareness, and self love we all strive to have. As a force for healing and source of compassion, she can accomplish anything!

7. The Care Free Black Girl: Ms. Kyemah McEntyre, broke the internet a few years ago with her STUNNING self made African inspired prom dress! Now, she has gone on to designing amazing gowns for actresses, Rip the Runway, and was even seen on several TV stations. I LOVE her detailed and gorgeous designs (which are sweeping the fashion industry), but I truly admire her care free black girl attitude. She completely embraces who she is and never strays from that. She challenges the "standards" of beauty, uses her platform to spread positivity, and brings the message of self-love to young girls. Please check out her collections below!
