As a photographer there have been several times I have heard mommies to be say the don't feel pregnancy photo's are important. Or that they don't feel pretty enough or whatever excuses there may be. Ladies first and foremost we believe that beauty resonates in women, and even more so in pregnancy! You are bringing light and love into the world and from this you exude light and beauty. Here are some reason why you should always invest in maternity portraits during your pregnancy:
1. Building Bonds
Setting time aside to celebrate your upcoming bundle of joy not only allows you time to embrace the light coming into your life, but also gives your partner and children to celebrate with you. By capturing your joy not only for friends and family to see, but also for your newborn to eventually look back and see the love they are born into. This experience also allows your sibling(s) to bond with baby create excitement and also feel important during this upcoming chance. In many cases a new sibling can cause doubt or apprehensiveness, being apart of your maternity portrait can help your child(ren) to look back with their future sibling and say "Hey I was there when you were in mommies tummy!"
2. Moments into Memories
Pregnancy at the time seems like it can last forever, and I am sure there are moments mom's look down at their tummy in the final weeks feeling ready to see it go. However, the bump is fleeting. Once it is gone, it is gone. There is no going back and seeing ourselves in that moment. And even if mommies and daddies do not want to scroll back and look at that memory again, you can be sure a toddler and even a young adult would love to look and see the time they were growing inside their mom, and how she nurtured them even before they took their first breath.
3. Crazy Creativity
Maternity session give you a outlet to express not only your creative side, but also your families. Choosing a quality photographer can ensure that your creative vision not only comes to life, but capture the mood, tone, and theme of your vision. Being creative takes the pressure off finding the perfect pose or style. It allows couple to live in the now and increase a truly warm and vibrant atmosphere. You probably can think or recent examples like Beyonce's Goddess inspired shoot or the superb elegance of Ciara. You don't need thousands of dollars to portray such creativity. You just need to get out there draw on your tummy, share kisses, laugh, walk on the beach, and anything else that make you and your family special.
4. Embracing the Belly
Perhaps you have considered maternity portraits, but then Beyonce stormed the internet with her Goddess themed shoot and you feel like how creative, but I am in no shape to have my stomach photographed. As many of celebs are now diving into creating families we see the celebrity/Hollywood side of photography. There is nothing worse then to see a mother doubting the beauty of her belly. Embrace the home of your future child. We guarantee all who see your photos will fall in love with the temporary home of your child. So love that belly, use the above suggestions to also help you see the love inside you and the home he/she lives in.
5. Pricing for Pregnant
I just don't have the funds! The coming of a newborn involves so much planning, and part of that is budgeting financially. But surprisingly many mom's have found that several photographers have reasonable pricing or perfect bundle packages to fit their needs. A great way to also look for affordable pricing is planning around a holiday where photographers might offer discounts. Or asking your preferred photographer about any upcoming mini sessions specials. Mini session's are great to capture the select poses and style you may want and get quality portraits all on a budget! Don't let finances stop you from capturing this once in a lifetime moment between you and your bundle of joy.
